On Wednesday 9th July, students from Clifton Community School proudly represented their school at the annual Wickersley Partnership Trust (WPT) Sports Day.
With the sun shining and spirits high, the day began at Rawmarsh School with the Mixed Rounders tournament. Students from Years 6 to 9 took to the field with enthusiasm and determination. Clifton’s team impressed with their energy and coordination, finishing third overall in a hard-fought competition.
In the afternoon, the action moved to Herringthorpe Stadium for the Athletics competition. From sprints to long-distance races and field events, Clifton students demonstrated resilience, focus and athleticism. Every event was met with cheers from staff and peers, creating an atmosphere of support and encouragement. Once again, Clifton achieved third place overall, showcasing both individual talent and team spirit.
The day also saw some Clifton students step up as volunteers, helping to officiate events, assist younger students, and support staff throughout the day. Their leadership and maturity were a credit to the school and made a real difference to the smooth running of the event.
WPT Sports Day is part of Wickersley Partnership Trust’s wider commitment to providing high-quality physical education and enrichment opportunities for all students. At Clifton, we’re proud to support this vision – ensuring that every young person has access to inclusive, challenging and enjoyable sporting experiences, both in school and beyond.
A huge well done to all Clifton students who competed, volunteered or cheered on their peers – you’ve done your school proud and truly embodied the values of teamwork, determination and resilience.
