This week, a group of Year 8 and Year 9 students from Clifton Community School had the exciting opportunity to visit Sheffield Hallam University as part of the Higher Education Progression Partnership (HEPP) programme.
Throughout the day, students took part in engaging workshops designed to broaden their understanding of university life and raise aspirations for the future. One highlight was the chance to step inside a real lecture theatre, with some students even delivering mini-presentations at the front, giving them a real sense of what it feels like to speak in front of a university audience.
They also explored the wider campus on a guided tour, which gave them a valuable insight into what student life could look like – from modern learning spaces and libraries to the social and support facilities available.
The staff at Sheffield Hallam were incredibly welcoming and informative, helping our students to picture their potential pathways into higher education.
This experience is part of Wickersley Partnership Trust’s Enrichment Promise, which is designed to ensure all students have access to meaningful enrichment experiences that go beyond the classroom. Visits like this are a key part of our commitment to careers education and raising aspirations, helping every student see the exciting opportunities available to them in the future.
A huge well done to all the students who attended – you represented Clifton brilliantly, and we hope the visit inspired some big dreams for the future!
