It has been a fantastic start to the netball season at Clifton, with our Year 7, Year 8/9 and Year 10 teams all taking to the court.
Our Year 7 team played their very first competitive match, with a few pre-game nerves quickly disappearing once the whistle blew. Despite being a player down due to illness, the girls showed fantastic resilience and worked incredibly hard throughout the game. Maltby kindly lent us a player so the match could go ahead, demonstrating great sportsmanship and kindness from both teams. Although Maltby took the win 5-1, there was plenty to celebrate, including Khadija scoring her first-ever goal for Clifton!
Our Year 8/9 team also made a brilliant start to their season, producing an outstanding performance. The girls raced into a 4-1 lead at half-time and continued to show energy, determination and teamwork throughout the second half, eventually securing a fantastic 7-4 victory.
Meanwhile, 21 Year 10 girls travelled to Maltby for their first game of the season. The girls played on rotation and supported each other throughout, showing great teamwork and representing themselves and Clifton brilliantly.
A huge well done to all three teams for their resilience, teamwork and sportsmanship. What a fantastic way to get the netball season underway!
