On Wednesday 7th May 2025, Clifton Drama Club presented their first official ‘Comedy Sketch Show’ in the Performance Hall.
The show was a resounding success; deliberately informal and offering free entry – the show provided the kind and generous audience of the Clifton Community with colour, laughter, and the life and spirit of Clifton’s warmth, humour and intelligence in eight madcap sketches that proved to go down really well with the audience.
The show celebrated the Clifton Drama students – and there are many! Clifton Drama Club officially boasts a total of 32 students joining from Y7, Y8 and Y9.
All of the comedy sketches were originally devised during drama club sessions. The ideas, characters and concepts were then pooled and channelled into structured comedy sketch
scripts which were rehearsed and produced by the Drama Club community.
Happy at Home, Seance, Paolo’s Fish, Sundial Records, Beautiful Minimum Wage Workers, The Whittlebottes, Wandrin’ Star and Mad Lillies were the eight acts that the Drama Club proudly presented and everybody – cast and audience included – left the Performance Hall feeling satisfied and in good cheer, ready for the next exciting production at Clifton Community School! Our next production at Clifton will be the Christmas Show in December 2025, so watch this space!
