Staff vs Students Charity Football Match

On Thursday 16th April, we hosted our first Staff vs Students Charity Football Match, where Mr Linacre recruited 23 staff members to take on our Y11 boys football team in aid of Rotherham Hospice.

The event was the talk of the school and it was shown by the attendance of the crowd, with around 190 tickets sold to spectators for the event!

The first half was really competitive, the Y11’s went into half time 1-0 up with G Shengelia breaking the deadlock. At half time, both squads swapped their full team. The next 30 minutes brought more goals through N Ali, F Boota and Mr Cadman.

The final result was 4-1, and Y11’s took the win! However, the staff did win something on the night, the most pulled muscles in which they were victorious 3-0!

The total amount raise was an amazing £787.10! A representative from Rotherham Hospice attended the fixture and spoke to the boys both before and after the game. He explained the huge impact the school’s donation will have on the hospice.

Finally, thank you to all Clifton students, families, and staff for all the donations, and those who participated and supported the event.
