Core Transition Event

It was a night of intrigue and investigation at Clifton School as we welcomed our prospective Y7 cohort for a special Murder Mystery themed Transition Evening. With 134 families in attendance, the atmosphere was full of excitement as students took their first steps into secondary school life.

Students became lead investigators for the evening, moving through core departments to help solve the ‘Clifton Crime’. In Maths, they used logic and problem-solving skills to crack codes and unlock clues. In Science, the labs were busy as they carried out forensic-style investigations to analyse evidence and narrow down suspects. In English, they carefully examined witness statements and reports, using inference skills to piece together what had happened.

While students worked through the mystery, families joined a presentation in the Main Hall led by Headteacher Mrs Smith. The session provided key information about the transition process, helping parents and carers feel prepared for the journey ahead.

We are incredibly proud of how our visiting Year 6 pupils engaged with the evening and embraced the challenges. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for our Non-Core Evening on Thursday 21st May, where students will experience even more subject taster sessions and discover the wide range of opportunities on offer at Clifton.

Thank you to all families who attended and helped make the evening such a success!
