Parliament Trip

Yesterday, we took 30 students to London to visit parliament. Despite a train delay meaning, we missed out on our riverboat trip we had a fantastic day.

We went on the London Eye and visited parliament which involved having a tour of the building, going through the House of Commons, and seeing the 1000-year-old Westminster Hall. Students then took part in a Parliamentary style debate including Eman being the Speaker complete with the speaker’s robes.

It was a day of many firsts for the students including experiencing the London Underground. Their faces were a picture! We finished the day with a spot of sightseeing including the Cenotaph, Downing Street, Trafalgar Square, and Buckingham Palace.  I’m not sure if some of the kids had ever walked that far and we certainly tired them out but it was a great day.
