We are very happy to share with you a short film about the Big History Bright Futures project. This project, led by Sophie Ellingham at Children’s Capital of Culture, led to the creation of a mural celebrating diversity in the borough. Funded by Historic England in partnership with Imagine Rotherham, Clifton Community School and Clifton Learning Partnership, the project encouraged young people to connect with their own communities and families, sharing their lived experiences through the arts.
The students absolutely loved working on the project, by getting to know the local history and also their own heritage. They were so engaged with the creative workshops that Children’s Culture of Capital put on for them, and really loved being a part of the celebration event held at Clifton Community school, where we invited parents and guardians to view the exhibition of their work. We also had some superb dance performances from our Clifton students.
Well done to everyone who was involved!
