Year 9 have started their football season in style with a brilliant 8-1 away victory at Wickersley. The team started strongly, moving the ball around well, and Raman opened the scoring after excellent work from Asumi. The goals continued to flow, with Archie and Emmanuel adding to the score before Archie completed his hat-trick. Isaac, last season’s top scorer, then got on the end of Archie’s cross to make it 5-0 at half-time.
The second half gave the team the chance to rotate the squad, but they remained in control. Asumi scored after a Raman assist, while Archie added another to finish with four goals. Wickersley scored a late consolation, but the team had the final say with another fine goal from Archie.
It was a fantastic evening, with a great effort from the lads and a brilliant spirit from both teams. The squad looks in good shape ahead of their next cup campaign away at Rawmarsh.
