We had a fab evening doing Battle of the Bands last night.
They performed to a packed audience and a judging panel made up of Mrs Leng, Mrs O’Brien and David Burgess, Head of Music at Rotherham College.
With competitors from Wickersley and Oakwood, the competition was tough from the start, and our musicians in both the Band and Solo categories were focused and professional at all times.
It was a joy to see pupils from all schools supporting each other.
Our special guest band was For Next Week from Rotherham College – they absolutely blew us all away.
Our very own talented bassist Alex Koroma performed in the winning band The Meteorites with some incredible musicians from Oakwood, and our Y11 band No Way Sis came a very close 2nd.
Congratulations to all musicians involved – it was wonderful to be able to present another opportunity for pupils to develop their skills and confidence as musicians. A massive well done to the overall winning band The Meteorites, and the soloist Jaime from Oakwood – outstanding performances all round!
