This week, 30 Year 9 and Year 10 students went on a trip to Magdalen College in Oxford. Everyone had the opportunity to experience what it’s like to be a student at one of the top universities in the country!
Students had an introduction and tour of the college, seeing the beautiful buildings and famous deer park. They also met some current students and had the opportunity to ask them questions about life at Oxford.
The students then had lunch in the great hall! In the afternoon, they visited the Earth Sciences department for a workshop on Volcanoes, where they did experiments to show how different Volcanoes erupt, they also had the chance to handle a real meteorite!
The final activity was a walking tour around the centre of Oxford, taking in some of the most famous sights such as the Bodleian library and the Bridge of Sighs.
The students conducted themselves brilliantly all day, and they were extremely positive about their experience. It would be wonderful to see some of them back here as students in a few years time.
Well done everyone!
